IGN: 8.0/10 Rage 2 boasts a vast open world and ample opportunities for leveling up. For players tired of typical settings but wanting to try a completely new RPG shooter experience, like Far Cry fans, this game is a must-play. While Avalanche Studios doesn't exactly liven up the world or make great use of its vehicles, Rage 2 completely dominates every combat moment thanks to its Doom-inspired pacing, a feature few current shooters possess.

Combined with a large arsenal of weapons and leveling up, even with constantly repeating mission objectives, Rage 2's combat system remains engaging. GameInformer: 7/10. GameInformer felt that the graphics in this installment were somewhat dull and monotonous, not quite fitting the post-apocalyptic setting. The game's appeal lay in exploring and showcasing shooting skills using various vehicles, but it lacked any particularly interesting characters, and the environments and activities were only average .

GameSpot: 6/10 Advantages:

  • Multiple sources of highly destructive energy made the battle even more intense.

  • Upgrading your character's abilities can help increase their power level.

Disadvantages:

  • The main quest ended too quickly, leaving no opportunity to interact with much of the world.

  • The plot is ordinary and the characters are boring.

  • There are very few opportunities to utilize superpowers in short matches.

  • Negative actions often have almost no consequences.

Scores from several other websites :

  • Destructoid: 8/10

  • PCGamesN: 7/10

  • GameRadar+: 3/5

  • US Gamer: 4/5

  • The Game Machine: 8/10

Overall, Rage 2 is a decent RPG-style hybrid if gamers want to focus on gameplay. However, if you care about the storyline and characters, Rage 2 doesn't offer much value. A score of 7/10 is probably reasonable for this shooter game.
